Downtown's about to look a little different this weekend — capes, costumes, and con badges everywhere you turn. FredCon takes over Saturday, and it's dragging half the city's calendar with it: an afterparty with cosplay karaoke, a vintage pin-up contest for a good cause, and enough live music to fill three nights. Grab a truk stop between stops and you've got yourself a weekend.

🧚 Fairy Pick: Fredericksburg Comic Con
Saturday, July 11 • 10 AM–4 PM, Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center
A family-friendly comic and pop culture convention celebrating comics, gaming, anime, toys, cosplay, and fandom of all kinds — the con-floor energy without the con-center price tag. Bring the kids, bring the costume, or just bring yourself.

🐾 Pups on the Patio — Ironclad Inn, 3–5 PM. Meet ODHS rescue pups looking for their forever homes; $1 from every Pawty Punch sold goes to the shelter.
🧘 Yoga Pawty of Puppies — 5–7 PM. Puppy cuddles followed by yoga, $20 donation. 🎟 RSVP
🎸 Abel Acoustic at Courtyard by Marriott — 6–9 PM. A rockin' night at the Marriott, a little late for the 4th but still celebrating.
🕹️ Unchained at Reclaim Arcade — 8 PM. Classic rock covers, $15 admission includes free play on 75+ arcade and pinball games (18+).
🎤 Mark Dunn Live at Strangeways — 7–10 PM. Acoustic sets at the brewery, dog-friendly biergarten.
